Setting Up Hold-at-Location Fees

Last updated

Hold at location (HAL) means receiving packages for people who don't rent a mailbox. PostalPoint charges these customers a storage fee based on how long the package sits on your shelf. Set up your fees in Settings → Receiving → Hold at Location. Fees can be daily or even hourly.

If you need more than one fee schedule, such as a lower rate for a carrier program or a business customer, add it to the HAL Alternate Fee Table. You can add as many fee schedules as you need. To delete a schedule not in use anymore, erase the fields for that row and it'll be removed when you save settings.

When a package is checked in, PostalPoint prints a barcoded shelf label so it's easy to find. At pickup, scan the shelf label and the fee is calculated automatically based on how long the package was held. To require a signature at pickup, turn on Sign for Packages in the same Settings → Receiving section of Settings.
